Drug Instructions
Aciclovir Capsules is prescribed for treating chickenpox (varicella) or shingles (herpes zoster) as well as treating or repressive means for genital herpes infections. The medicine can also be prescribed for other conditions thus after preliminary being determined by your health care provider.
Intake instructions
Please use Aciclovir as mixture by your health care provider.
Make sure to take Aciclovir by mouth with or without food.
Also make sure to drink extra fluids while taking Aciclovir.
The therapy with Aciclovir is recommended at the earliest sign or symptom of shingles or genital herpes (pain, burning, blisters).
In case if treating a severe outbreak, please persist using Aciclovir for the full course of treatment even in case you show improvement in a few days.
For repressive therapy, Aciclovir functions best when you take at fixed times each day.

Drug Category and Mechanism
Aciclovir is prescribed for diseases caused by viruses. It functions by stopping viral response. Thus, Aciclovir does not remove the virus, please note that is not a cure, and cannot be used as a preventive means in transmission to others.
Missed Dose
Should you miss a dose of this medicine please take it asap. If you find you have missed the previous dosage when it is almost time for your next dose, you should better skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Taking double or extra doses at once is not recommended. If more than one dose is missed, please contact your attending medical doctor or health care provider.
Storage
The best conditions to keep the medicine at are to store them room temperature 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). The container where the medicine is stored should be tightly closed. It should be also strictly protected from moisture, heat and light. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted is allowed
Safety Precautions
Taking the medicine is not recommended in case:
you show allergic reactions to any component in Aciclovir;
pregnant or planning to become
breast-feeding mothers
you are taking other medicines, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, and any other herbal products
you have allergy to medicines, foods
have kidney troubles or a sick immune system.

Some MEDICINES MAY occur in INTERACTION with Aciclovir. Please make sure to inform your doctor of your intake of any other medicines, this is especially applicable to any of the following:
Medicines which can bring harm to the kidney (eg, aminoglycoside antibiotics [eg, gentamicin], amphotericin B, cyclosporine, nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDs] [eg, ibuprofen], tacrolimus) as they may cause the risk of kidney side effects. Please inform your health care provider for more information on medicines which are harmful for kidney.
Probable Side Effects
All medicines may be reason for side effects, thus many people may undergo none, or minor, side effects. Please discuss with your health care provider if any of the mentioned most COMMON side effects afterglow or become or causing bother:
diarrhea; common body discomfort; headache; nausea/emesis.
Please make sure to see your health care provider if any of these austere side effects occur:
Certain allergic reactions (eruption; hives; itching; hard breathing; tenseness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); aggressive austere; bloody urine; encumbrance; low level of consciousness; reduced urination; delusion; lower back pain; mental/ mood changes; red, bladdery, or husking skin; convulsions; uncommon bruising or bleeding.
