Drug Uses
Provera helps to treat uterine and menstrual problems. Sometimes it may be taken for some other conditions as directed by your doctor.
How Taken
Take the medication as determined by your doctor. Read the medicine label for precise dosing instructions carefully.
Usually, Pronera is taken by mouth with food or without it. In case you have a stomach upset, it should be taken with food for reducing the irritation of stomach. Use the drug with a glass of water following the directions of your doctor. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Missed Dose
Take this medicine as determined by your doctor. In case you miss a dosge of Provera, take it immediately. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up. Then go back to your usual schedule.
Storage
Keep provera at room temperature, between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Keep in a hermetic and light-resistant container. Store it away from light, heat and moisture. Do not store it in the bathroom. Save this remedy beyond the reach of children and away from pets.
Warnings Precautions
You must not take Provera if:
if you have allergies to its ingredients;
if you are pregnant/planning to become pregnant;
if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding;
if you have/have ever had brain bleeding or blood clots;
if you have liver problems;
if you have a cancer(genital or breast).
Contact your health care provider/doctor immediately in case some of these apply to you.
Important :
You are not adviced to drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Provera.
Using Provera alone, with certain other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Avoid a long-period of exposure to the sun while taking this medication. Provera may influence levels of blood sugar in your body. You should control your blood sugar regularly while taking Provera.
Provera is not recommended for use in children.
This medicine must not be taken during pregnancy because it may cause harm to human fetus. On condition you suspect you are pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. You should discuss all benefits and risks of taking Provera during your pregnancy. It is not known whether this medicine passes into human breast milk. Stop breast-feeding while using Provera.
Possible Side Effects
Contact your doctor if any of these side effects take place:
changes in flow of menstruations, rapid weight changes, dizziness, drowsiness, mood changes, skin numbness, lack of menstruation, dizziness, confusion, headache, insomnia, tiredness, increased sweating, nausea, nervousness, upset of stomach, weakness.
Ask for medical attention immediately in case any of these serious side effects take place:
coordination problems, serious allergic reactions (chest tightness; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; rash; hives; difficulty breathing); feet/legs swelling; rapid gain of weight/ weight loss; weakness; fever; body discomfort; headache; loss of appetite; dizziness; high eye pressure; pain in joint/muscle; sore throat; nausea; changed stools; menstrual periods changes; convulsions; depression; diarrhea; vomiting; vision problems.
More Information
Provera should be taken only by those patients for whom it is prescribed. You should not give it to others. If your symptoms become worse and do not improve, contact your doctor.
