Drug Description
Bactrim represents a category of synthetic antibacterial unite product which is available in DS (double strength) tablets.
Intake Instructions
Bactrim is prescribed for taking under your doctors’ control.
You can take Bactrim with or without food.
Bactrim effects best if you intake it at the fixed times each day.
Please make sure to intake Bactrim with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL). Also drinking much liquid is recommended unless otherwise advised by your physician.
To fight your infection entirely, please make sure to take Bactrim for the full course of treatment. Please do not stop taking the medicine even if you feel actual improvement in a few days.

Drug Category and Mechanism
Bactrim represents an antibiotic combination which involves as a component a sulfonamide antibiotic. It functions via killing sensitive bacteria.
Missed Dose
Should you miss a dose of this medicine please take it asap. If you find you have missed the previous dosage when it is almost time for your next dose, you should better skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Taking double or extra doses at once is not recommended. If more than one dose is missed, please contact your attending medical doctor or health care provider.
Storage
The best conditions to store Bactrim at are 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Please make sure to keep the medicine away from heat, moisture, and light. Storing Bactrim in the bathroom is not recommended. Please make sure to keep the medicine away from children and pets.
Safety Precautions
Taking the medicine is not recommended in case:
you are allergic reaction to any component in Bactrim or similar medicines;
you had an austere allergic reaction to any other sulfonamide (sulfa) medicine
you are being treated with dofetilide;
you have numbness caused by low levels of folate in the blood
you are pregnant at 38 weeks of pregnancy or later
you are a breast-feeding mother;
The medicine is not recommended for use in children under 2 months old.

Crucial Information:
Bactrim may become the reason for sunburning. Please stay away from exposure to the sun or sunlamps until you find your reaction to this preparate.
Make sure to use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing in case you have to be outside for a long time.
Please immediately consult with your health care provider if you have stomach pain or convulsions, austere diarrhea, or bloody stools. Never treat diarrhea without preliminary consultation with your physician.
Be certain to use Bactrim for the full course of treatment. Please not that only in this case medicine may fight your infection entirely. The bacteria could also become less vulnerable to this or other categories of alike medicines.
Bactrim only works against bacteria; please note that it does not treat viral infections (e.g., the common cold).
Long-dated or continuos use of Bactrim may cause a second infection. Please inform your attending doctor that if symptoms of a second infection is observed. Your medicine can also be in need of replacement to treat this.
Diabetes patients - Bactrim may have an impact on your blood sugar. Please make sure to monitor blood sugar levels closely. Also consult your attending doctor before you make any changes in the dose of your diabetes medicine.
Make sure to intake Bactrim with special care in children under 10 years of age who have diarrhea or an infection of the stomach as well as bowel.
Bactrim may intercross with certain lab tests. Make sure your doctor and lab personnel are aware you are taking Bactrim.
You may attend your scheduled lab tests, involving entire blood cell counts and kidney function tests, while you use Bactrim. These tests may be used to control your medical condition or check you for side effects. Make sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Please immediately contact your health care provider in case you become pregnant. You should necessarily discuss the benefits and risks of using Bactrim at the period of pregnancy. Taking Bactrim at the pregnancy stage of 38 week or later (full-term) is not recommended. Please also note that Bactrim outfalls into the breast milk. Please avoid breast-feed while taking Bactrim.
Please discuss with your health care provider if any of the mentioned most COMMON side effects afterglow or become or causing bother:
Appetite loss; emesis; retching.
Please inform your health care provider if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of these are applicable to you.
Austere allergic reactions (eruption; hives; itching; hard breathing; tenseness in the thorax; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); blistered, husking, red, or swollen skin; dark and bloody stools; thorax pain; chills, an abnormally high body temperature, or sore throat; high level of urination; state of being depressed; hallucinations; uncommon heartbeat; articulation pain; purple patches under the skin; convulsion; austere diarrhea; severe or continuos cough; severe or persistent continuos headache; severe or persistent emesis or retching; hard breathing; stomach cramps/pain; uncommon bruising or bleeding; extreme weariness or weakness; uncommon pale skin and other.
