Drug Uses
Differin is known as a retinoid-like compound which is used to get rid of acne. Sometimes it may be taken for some other conditions as directed by your doctor.
How Taken
Sometimes Differin is provided by an additional leaflet of patient information. If you have any questions concerning this drug ask your health care provider or doctor, about them. Wash the damaged area with a soap and dry it before using Differin. Put a thin film of medication to the damaged area. Then rub in a gentle way.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Differin’s main ingridient is adapalene. Adapalene moderats cellular differentiation, inflammatory processes and keratinization. Adapalene is put locally to the skin, its absorption into the blood is very low. There were found only trace adapalene amounts in the blood of chronically treated people.
Missed Dose
In case you omit a dose of Differin, skip such a dose and follow your regular dosing schedule.
Storage
Keep this medicine at room temperature, away from light and heat.
Warnings Precautions
You should not apply get Differin on the inside of your nose/mouth or in your eyes. Condition of your skin may worsen for the very first two-three weeks of therapy. You are not not adviced to stop using the medication in this period. You are allowed to use cosmetics while you are taking Differin. But do not forget wash and dry your face thoroughly before using this medication. This remedy may cause hightened sensitiveness to the sun. If you must be outside use a sunscreen. Do not apply Differin to sunburned skin.
On condition you suspect you are pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. You should discuss all benefits and risks of taking Differin during your pregnance. It is not known whether Differin passes into human breast milk. Stop breast-feeding while using Differin.
Possible Side Effects
Differin treatment side effects may include dryness, peeling, stinging, warmthredness feeling, itching. If they persist, contact your doctor. Address your doctor immediately in case of blistering, crusting, swelling, redness/peeling of your skin. On condition that you see some other effects not registered above, tell about this your doctor or pharmacist.
More Information
Differin must be used only by those patients for whom it is prescribed by a doctor. Do not share it with other people.
If your symptoms become worse and do not improve, contact your doctor. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and pets. If you use Differin for an elongated period of time, you should obtain refills before your product runs out.
