Drug Instruction
Minocin is prescribed for the treatment of certain infections. The medicine may also be used with other preparates to fight severe acne, as well as for other medical conditions as advised by your health care provider.
Intake Instructions

Intake of Minocin is recommended with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL). Never lie down for 30 minutes after taking the medicine.
Please note that if you take bismuth salts simultaneously with the treatment course with Minocin (eg, bismuth subsalicylate), calcium salts (eg, calcium carbonate), colestipol, iron salts (eg, iron sulfate), urinary alkalinizers (eg, daily antacids), vitamins/minerals, quinapril, didanosine, or zinc salts (eg, zinc sulfate), please avoid taking them within 2 to 3 hours before or after the intake of Minocin. Perform a consultation with your health care provider fore more clarifications on the issue.
To entirely fight your infection, you should take Minocin necessarily for the full course of treatment. Make sure to continue taking it even if you feel actual improvement in a few days. Minocin has best effects if taken at fixed times every day.

Missed Dose
Should you miss a dose of this medicine please take it asap. If you find you have missed the previous dosage when it is almost time for your next dose, you should better skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Taking double or extra doses at once is not recommended. If more than one dose is missed, please contact your attending medical doctor or health care provider.
Storage Instructions
The best conditions to keep the medicine is at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is allowed. The container where the medicine is stored should be tightly closed. It should be also strictly protected from moisture, heat and light. Please make sure to retain the medicine away from pets and children.
Safety Precautions
Taking the medicine is not recommended in case:
you have allergic reactions to any component in Minocin;
you are passing the treatment course with acitretin, an aluminum salt (e.g., aluminum carbonate), isotretinoin, methoxyflurane, or a penicillin.
Some medical conditions may interact with the medicine. Inform your health care provider or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following are applicable to you:
you are pregnant/planning to become pregnant
you are a breast-feeding mother
you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine,
you are passing the treatment course with herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
you have allergic reactions to medicines, foods, or other substances
you have kidney troubles
you have an autoimmune disfunctions (eg, lupus)
There are some MEDICINES that step into INTERACTION with the medicine. Please inform your health care provider if you take some medicines, including:
Aluminum salts (eg, aluminum carbonate) or cimetidine as they are liable to decrease Minocin 's effectiveness
Acitretin, anticoagulants (eg, warfarin), digoxin, ergot alkaloids (eg, ergotamine), insulin, isotretinoin, methotrexate, methoxyflurane, or theophyllines as the risk of their side effects may actually grow by Minocin
Live oral typhoid vaccine, oral contraceptives (birth control pills), as well as penicillins as their effectiveness may be levelled down by Minocin
Probable Side Effects
