Drug Uses
Pyridium helps to relieve frequent urination, discomfort, pain, burning, urgency, affected by lower urinary tract irritation. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Take the medication as determined by your doctor. Read the medicine label for precise dosing instructions carefully.
As a rule, Pyridium is taken by mouth with food or without it. In case you have a stomach upset, it should be taken with food for reducing the irritation of stomach. Use the drug with a glass of water following the directions of your doctor. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Drug Class and Mechanism
This medication belongs to urinary tract analgesics. Pyridium relieves the lining of the urinary tract pain.
Missed Dose
Take this medicine as determined by your doctor. If you omit a dose of Pyridium, take it immediately. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up. Then go back to your usual schedule.
Storage
Keep Pyridium at room temperature, between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Keep in a hermetic and light-resistant container. Store it away from light, heat and moisture. Do not store it in the bathroom. Save this medication beyond the reach of children and away from pets.
Warnings Precautions
You are forbidden to use Pyridium if:
you have allergies to its ingredients;
you have kidney problems.
Contact your health care provider/doctor immediately in case some of these apply to you.
Important :
You should not use more than the prescribed dosage. Do not take it for longer than two days if your doctor did not recommend you to.
Changed color of the urine is a normal reaction of your organism, you should not be alarmed because of that.
You have to refuse from wearing soft contact lenses when you take
Pyridium.
Before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, surgery or laboratory tests, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine.
On condition you suspect you are pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. You should discuss all benefits and risks of taking Pyridium during your pregnancy. It is not known whether this medicine passes into human breast milk. Stop breast-feeding while using Pyridium.
Possible Side Effects
All medicines may provoke certain side effects. Nevertherless, many people have no/ minor side effects. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects take place:
Rapid weight changes, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, mood changes, skin numbness, dizziness, confusion, headache, insomnia, tiredness, diarrhea, increased sweating, loss of appetite, nausea, nervousness, upset of stomach, weakness, anxiety, low sexual ability.
Ask for medical attention immediately in case any of these serious side effects take place:
serious allergic reactions (chest tightness; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; rash; hives; difficulty breathing); feet/legs swelling; rapid gain of weight/ weight loss; weakness; fever; body discomfort; headache; loss of appetite; dizziness; high eye pressure; pain in joint/muscle; sore throat; nausea; changed stools; menstrual periods changes; convulsions; depression; diarrhea; vomiting; vision problems.
