Drug Uses
The drug Ginseng has been traditionally used for fighting fatigue and providing immune support to a person. Ginseng also helps to maintain stamina and energy levels and may even enhance the physical performance of a person.

How Taken
It is a dietary supplement that must be taken twice a day 30 minutes before meals with a glass of water. A person must take two capsules.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Ginseng is an aphrodisiac, analgesic, adaptogen and a general stimulant for the body.
It has been successfully used in the treatment of cognitive ability, diabetes, heart attack, high blood pressure, impotence, infertility, anxiety, cancer, chronic fatigue, Lyme disease, menopause problems and stress.
Ginseng prevents nervous disorders in persons who are undergoing morphine treatment or amphetamine withdrawal. It slows the heart rate and lowers the heart's demand for oxygen.
Missed Dose
If one misses a dose of Ginseng, it should be taken as soon as possible. If it is time for the next dose than the missed dose should be skipped and one should return to the regular dose however it should be noted that two doses are not to be taken at one time.
Storage
One must store Ginseng at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Ginseng must be kept away from heat, moisture, light, children and pets.
Warnings Precautions
One should not take Ginseng if allergic to Saw Palmetto, or has certain related conditions. One should be sure that the doctor knows one has:
- a bleeding or blood clotting disorder like hemophilia
- a stomach ulcer along with active bleeding; or
- the existence of ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.
Before taking saw palmetto, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, herbalist, or other healthcare provider. You may not be able to use this product if you have:
One should consult one’s doctor before taking Saw Palmetto and should never use Ginseng in the following cases:
- a history of stomach ulcer; or
- asthma or other breathing disorders.
- a liver disease;
- a heart disease;
- a heart rhythm disorder
One should not take the drug if pregnant or has plans to become pregnant as Saw Palmetto is harmful to the new born child. The doctor must be consulted and if a person is breast feeding the consultation of a doctor is urgently required. One should not give any herbal or health supplement to a child without the doctor’s advice.
Possible Side Effects
If the following side effects occur one should check with the doctor immediately:
* Agitation; diarrhea; headache; nervousness; trouble sleeping.
Immediate medical attention should be taken if these SEVERE side effects occur:
* Severe allergic reactions such as rashes; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue and vaginal bleeding.

Ginseng originates from two different species of plants and they are the American and the Asian Ginseng. The Siberian Ginseng is not ginseng as it has different active components however it has the ability to anti stress a person like the American and Asian Ginseng.
