Drug Uses
Colchicine treats and prevents pain that is associated with gouty arthritis. Sometimes it is also used for other conditions as prescribed by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Colchicine as recommended by your doctor.
Take the medicine by mouth with or without food.
You should not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice when you are using Colchicine.

Colchicine is an anti-gout agent working by lowering inflammation.
Missed Dose
If you omit a dose of Colchicine, take it immediately. If you do not remember until later, skip the missed dose and follow your everyday dosing schedule. Do not take two doses of Colchicine at once.
Storage
Store Colchicine at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). Important :

If you are taking Colchicine for treating an attack of gouty arthritis and you experience nausea or diarrhea, stop using it.

Colchicine causes harm to the fetus. If you are pregnant, consult your doctor. The medication is found in breast milk. So, if you are breast-feeding while you take Colchicine, advice with your doctor and discuss all possible risks to your child.

Nausea; stomach pain; diarrhea; avomiting.
Seek medical attention instantly if these severe side effects take place:
tiredness; unusual bleeding or bruising; severe allergic reactions (itching; hives; rash; difficulty breathing; swelling of the face, mouth, tongue or lips); fever; infection; numbness or tingling; severe diarrhea; sore throat.
