Lioresal is used for the treatment of muscle spasms that is caused by multiple sclerosis or any other disease or else it can be used for treating any other condition prescribed by the doctor.
How Taken
The medicine Lioresal should be used as per the doctor’ suggestions and here are few of them:
- Lioresal should be taken with/without food
- The medicine Lioresal can even be swallowed but not chew or crush before swallowing
- It is better to consume Lioresal even when you feel well because it is important not to miss any dose and most importantly Lioresal should be taken at the same time of the day and so remember it to complete the dose without fail.
Drug Class and Mechanism
The drug Lioresal is actually a muscle relaxant because it helps in reducing severity and frequency of the muscle spasms which may occur due to neurological disorders like multiple sclerosis.
Missed Dose
In case you have missed a dose of Lioresal it is better to take as soon as you remember it. When it is time for the next dose, do not skip the dose and keep the regular schedule intact but do not take two doses at a time.
Storage
Lioresal should be stored between a temperature of about 59-77 F degree and it can also be stored way from any exposure to moisture, heat and light. It is better not to keep in a bathroom and most importantly, it should be kept out of the reach of pets and children.

- Lioresal is not at all recommended for children below 12 years of age because there is still no confirmation about the safety and affects of this medicine on children
- In case a woman is pregnant or breast feeding her baby, then she must consult the doctor before using this medicine. However, there is no such confirmation about the traits of Lioresal on breast milk but when it is about the safety of an infant bay , precautions comes as first preference.
Possible Side Effects

Constipation, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, nausea, sleeplessness etc

Allergic reactions like itching; rash; hives; problematic breathing; chest stiffness; swelling of the mouth, face, tongue or lips; seizures; blurred vision; slurred speech; frequent urination; confusion; increased weakness of arms or legs; vomiting, sore throat.
