Use Instruction
Advair Diskus is prescribed for long-dated treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in some patients. The medicine may also be prescribed for the treatment of other breathing conditions after preliminary being determined by your health care provider.
Intake instructions
Please use Advair Diskus as prescribed by your health care provider.
Make sure to take Advair Diskus by mouth with or without food. An extra patient information sheet is available with Advair Diskus and is called Medication Guide. Please make sure to read it carefully. Using a spacer with Advair Diskus is not recommended.
Remember that you should use this device in a level, planar position.
You should keep the device in one hand and press the thumb of your other hand on the thumb grip. After that push your thumb away from you as far as it can reach and do it unless mouthpiece appears and snaps into position.
Please possess the device in a level, planar position with the mouthpiece toward you. After that start sliding the lever away from you as far as it can reach go until it clicks.
Please rem ember that you should not close or tilt the device, play with the lever, as well as move the lever more than 1 time. This can cause the release of extra doses.
Please possess the device away from your mouth and breathe out wholly. You should NOT breathe into the respirator. Make sure to put the tip to your lips. Breathe in rapidly and inveterate through the device.

In case you are using other inhaled medicines, please wait a few minutes before using Advair Diskus Powder and other inhalers, unless prescribed otherwise by your health provider.
Take your doses of Advair Diskus with 12 hours period between, unless your doctor tells determines you otherwise.
Do not wash the mouthpiece or any other piece of inhaler. Make sure to persist it dry. Store Advair Diskus in a dry place. Throw Advair Diskus Powder away 1 month after you remove it from the metal paper, pouch, or after the dose indicator shows "0," no matter which comes first.
You can breathe more with ease already after the first dose of Advair Diskus. Thus, it may take 1 week or even more to reach the most benefit.
Please use Advair Diskus Powder on a common schedule to achieve the most benefit from it. Using Advair Diskus at the fixed times of the day will make the treatment process organized. You should not stop using Advair Diskus even in case you feel better except if your health care provider tells you oherwise.
Drug Category and Mechanism
Advair Diskus is a long-dated corticosteroid and bronchodilator mixture. It functions by reducing conflagration and expansion the airways in the lungs, which helps you breathe with more ease.
Missed Dose
Should you miss a dose of this medicine please take it asap. If you find you have missed the previous dosage when it is almost time for your next dose, you should better skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Taking double or extra doses at once is not recommended. If more than one dose is missed, please contact your attending medical doctor or health care provider.
Storage
The best conditions to keep Advair Diskus at are to store them room temperature 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). The container where the medicine is stored should be tightly closed. It should be also strictly protected from moisture, heat and light.
The inhalation device cannot be not reused and should be discarded 1 month after removal from the moisture-protective metal paper overwrap pouch or after all bladders have been used, no matter which of them comes first.
Safety Precautions
Taking the medicine is not recommended in case:
you have allergic reactions to any components in Advair Diskus, worsening of asthma symptoms such as chest tenseness, cough, hard breathing, wheezing)
you use another long-acting inhaled bronchodilator (eg, formoterol inhalation powder, salmeterol inhalation powder)
you take an azole antifungal such as ketoconazole, certain HIV protease inhibitors (eg, ritonavir), a macrolide antibiotic (eg, clarithromycin), nefazodone and other
Please consult with your health care provider immediately if any of these safety tips are applicable to you.
pregnant or planning to become
breast-feeding mothers
you are taking other medicines, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, and any other herbal products
you have allergy to medicines, foods
you are taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (eg, phenelzine) or tricyclic depression alleviating medicine (eg, amitriptyline), or in case you have taken any of these medicines within the recent 14 days
you have high level of blood acid (eg, ketoacidosis) history of diabetes, glaucoma, or scaled-up pressure in the eye, heart problems (eg, extreme or uncommon heartbeat, heart blood vessel troubles), high blood pressure, nervous system troubles, liver problems, low blood potassium levels, convulsions, thyroid troubles, or an adrenal gland neoplasm
you have a COPD flare-up, was in emergency room for asthma not long ago, have a history of recurring hospitalizations for asthma, or a life-threatening asthma attack
have a fungal, bacteritic, or spurious infection; a viral contagious (eg, measles, chickenpox, shingles); herpes contagious virus of the eye; tuberculosis (TB); a history of a precise TB skin test; weakening immune system; also in case you had a recent vaccination
you have fractured bones (osteoporosis) or have risk factors for osteoporosis (eg, a family history of osteoporosis, tobacco use, long-dated use of corticosteroids or some convulsion medicines, restricted physical exercise, weak nutrition)
Some MEDICINES MAY occur in INTERACTION with Advair Diskus. Please make sure to inform your doctor of your intake of any other medicines, this is especially applicable to any of the following:
Diuretics (eg, hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide) or long-acting inhaled bronchodilators (eg, salmeterol inhalation powder, formoterol inhalation powder) as they can cause the increase of risk of low blood potassium or uncommon heartbeat
Beta-blockers (eg, propranolol) as they can cause decrease Advair Diskus effectiveness.
Azole antifungals (eg, ketoconazole), catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors (eg, entacapone), HIV protease inhibitors (eg, ritonavir), macrolide antibiotics (eg, clarithromycin), MAOIs (eg, phenelzine), products_description-acting beta-agonist asthma relief agents or drugs (eg, albuterol), telithromycin, or tricyclic depression alleviating drugs (eg, amitriptyline) as they cause the risk of Advair Diskus' side effects increase
Probable Side Effects

Certain allergic reactions (eruption; hives; itching; hard breathing; tenseness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); changes in behavior; problems in vision; chest pain; choking; fast or uncommon heartbeat; husky voice; stupor or shiver in hands or feet; convulsions; severe muscle sickness, cramps, or cramps; severe or continous bone pain; severe or persistent dizziness or headache; signs of infection (eg, fever, chills, persistent headache/sore throat, ear pain, high level of mucus performance or change in mucus color); swelling or tenseness in the throat; problems with sleeping; uncommon sickness and weariness; vaginal odor or trigger; overweight; white patches or sores on the tongue as well as in the mouth; degradation of asthma symptoms (eg, scaled-up wheezing, coughing, chest tenseness, hard breathing).
