Drug Instruction
Pletal is prescribed to decrease attacks of spasmodic claudication (pain, convulsions, anemia, or weakness in the foot, hip, thigh, or buttocks) that may occur after walking.
Intake Instructions
Please use the medicine under you health care provider’s strict control. Necessarily perform a check up of the label on the medicine for learning exact dosing instructions. Please make sure to intake Pletal by mouth at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after food.
Please note that you should not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you take Pletal .
The effects of Pletal are not prompt. Despite the fact that you may face the benefits of Pletal 2 to 4 weeks after starting the treatment, treatment for up to 12 weeks may be needed before Pletal takes effect.
Drug Category and Mechanism
Pletal represents a category of a phosphodiesterase type 3 inhibitor. Pletal effects by enhancing arteries which supply blood to the legs and it also low levels the capability of platelets (particles in the blood included in blood clotting) to stick together.
Missed Dose
Should you miss a dose of this medicine please take it asap. If you find you have missed the previous dosage when it is almost time for your next dose, you should better skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Taking double or extra doses at once is not recommended. If more than one dose is missed, please contact your attending medical doctor or health care provider.
Storage Instructions
The container where the medicine is stored should be tightly closed. It should be also strictly protected from moisture, heat and light. Please make sure to retain the medicine away from pets and children.
Safety Precautions
Taking the medicine is not recommended in case:
you have allergic reactions to any component in Pletal;
you have heart problems.
Some medical conditions may interact with the medicine. Inform your health care provider or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following are applicable to you:
Crucial Information:
Pletal may cause giddiness. This effect may get worse if you take it with alcohol or several types of medicines. Please make sure to intake Pletal with caution. Please note that you should not drive or perform other potentially dangerous tasks until you know how you react to it.
Please necessarily inform your health care provider or dentist that you take Pletal before you are scheduled for any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
Lab tests, involving complete blood cell counts, may be executed while you use Pletal . These tests may be prescribed and scheduled to control your medical condition or check for side effects. Make certain to retain all doctor and lab appointments.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: In case you are pregnant or become pregnant, please immmidately consult your health care provider. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Pletal at the period of pregnancy. It is not yet explored whether Pletal outfalls in breast milk. Please make sure to avoid breast-feeding at the period of taking Pletal.
Probable Side Effects
Please discuss with your health care provider if any of the mentioned most COMMON side effects afterglow or become or causing bother:
Uncommon or changed stools; back pain; bloating or tumor of ankles, feet, or hands; diarrhea; giddiness; feeling of a whirling motion; gas; headache; severe cough; difficulty in digesting food; infection; muscle aches; emesis and retching; wet nose; sore throat; stomach pain; tumor of the legs and feet.
Please inform your health care provider if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the below – provided are applicable to you:
austere allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; hard breathing; tenseness in the chest; tumor of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); dark, tarry stools; fast or uncommon heartbeat; pounding in the chest; uncommon bruising or bleeding; retching material that looks like coffee grounds.
