Drug Description
Aristocort (Triamcinolone) is prescribed for treating a number of medical conditions, involving and not limited to, inadequacy of the adrenal cortex, inflammatory problems, allergic reactions, as well as connective tissue problems. The medicine can also be used for other medical conditions treatment as advised by your health care provider.
Intake Instruction
Please thoroughly follow the instructions for using this medicine advised by your health care provider.
This medicine should be taken with meals. To decrease side effects, make sure to take Aristocort around 8 a.m. in the morning.
Please note that this is a potent medication. Please never increase your dose, and take Aristocort more often than advised. Never give up taking the medicine except on your doctor’s advice.
Drug Category and Mechanism
Aristocort represents a category of a corticosteroid. It effects by decreasing inflammation and impacting on the body's immune system.
Missed Dose
Should you miss a dose of this medicine please take it asap. If you find you have missed the previous dosage when it is almost time for your next dose, you should better skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Taking double or extra doses or missing ones is recommended only after thorough advice of your attending medical doctor.
Storage
The medicine must be stored at room temperature, 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) and thus protected from heat, as well as direct light.
Safety Precautions
Taking Aristocort is not recommended in case:
you have allergic reactions to any component in Aristocort;
you have a fungal infection ;
you are being treated with mifepristone .
Contact your health care provider immediately if any of the mentioned conditions are applicable to you.

you are pregnant/ will be pregnant,
you are a breast-feeding mother;
you take any category of prescription or nonprescription medicine, as well as herbal preparation and dietary supplement;
you have allergic reactions to medicines, foods, or other supplements;
you have been exposed to a bacterial, parasitic, ameba, measles, chickenpox, shingles, tuberculosis (TB), as well as herpes simplex of the eye;
you have underwent a recent vaccination,
you have heartburn, diarrhea, or intestinal troubles (eg, obstructions, perforations, peptic ulcer, recent intestinal surgery);
you have a blood coagulation troubles, heart diseases, diabetes mellitus, kidney illness, liver disfunctions, an underactive thyroid, shaky joints, or osteoporosis, cracking, had a recent heart attack or joint surgery;
depression, or myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness).
Please note that there are some medicines which step into interaction with Aristocort .
Please inform your pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, especially one of these mentioned ones:
Barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital), carbamazepine, or rifampin because they may decrease Aristocort 's effectiveness;
Clarithromycin, itraconazole as the risk of side effects, can be increased;
Aspirin, mifepristone or ritodrine as the risk of side effects may be increased by Aristocort.
Probable Side Effects
Please discuss with your health care provider if any of the mentioned most COMMON side effects afterglow or become or causing bother:
bone cracking; appetite loss; low level mood; hard sleeping; headache; difficulty in digesting food; irritability; stomach bloating; thin, friable skin.
Please inform your health care provider if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the below – provided are applicable to you:
austere allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; hard breathing; tenseness in the thorax; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); dark stools; changes in periodic; paroxysm; rapid or uncommon heartbeat; prolonged sore throat, an abnormally high body temperature; psychotic behaviors; severe emesis or retching; swelling of feet or legs; uncommon bruising or bleeding; uncommon weight gain; changes in vision; retching which looks like coffee grounds.
