Drug Uses
Etodolac helps to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and pain caused by this diseases. Sometimes it may be taken for some other conditions as directed by your doctor.
How Taken
Take the medication as determined by your doctor. As a rule, Etodolac is taken by mouth with food or without it. In case you have a stomach upset, it should be taken with food for reducing the irritation of stomach. Use the drug with a glass of water following the directions of your doctor.

Drug Class and Mechanism
This NSAID blocks some body substances which affect inflammation. Etodolac treats pain/inflammation symptoms. But, like all NSAIDs, it treats only symptoms, not the ilness that caused the symptoms.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Etodolac, take it immediately. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up.
Storage

Warnings Precautions
You cannot take in the following cases:
you have allergies to Etodolac ingredients;
you have/have had a serious allergic reactions (chest tightness; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; rash; hives; difficulty breathing) to NSAID or aspirin;
you are going to give a birth within three months or less;
you are planning a heart surgery;
you are currently using phenylbutazone.

Important:
Refuse from taking aspirin simultaneously with Etodolac. Contact a doctor for gurther instructions.
This medicine may influence some laboratory tests’ results. Inform personnel of laboratory/doctor about the fact of using Etodolac.
Before starting some new medication, check if it contains NSAID or not. Etodolac belongs to NSAIDs and you must not take another remedy which has a NSAID in its composition.
Using Etodolac alone, with certain other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. You are not adviced to drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Etodolac. While taking Etodolacy stomach bleeding and ulcers may happen .
You should not exceed the prescribed dosage and should take the remedy only for the recommended period.
Laboratory tests may be made when you take Etodolac. Such tests, including blood pressure tests and complete blood cell counts, help to control your heakth condition and check side effects. You should not avoid all laboratory and doctor appointments.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist in case you have the following medical
conditions:unusual stools; pain in stomach; rapid weight gain;swelling; back pain; vomiting.
This medicine must not be taken during pregnancy because it may cause harm to human fetus. It may cause serious harm to the human fetus
On condition you suspect you are pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. You should discuss all benefits and risks of taking Etodolac during your pregnancy. It is not known whether Etodolac passes into human breast milk. Stop breast-feeding while using this medication.
Possible Side Effects
Contact your doctor in case you experience the following side effects:
dizziness; nausea; stomach problems; weakness; constipation; diarrhea;
headache; heartburn.
Ask for medical attention immediately in case any of these serious side effects take place:
serious allergic reactions (chest tightness; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; rash; hives; difficulty breathing); arm or leg numbness; sore throat; changes in mood; ringing in the ears; seizures; persistent headache; weakness (especially in one side); swelling of some parts of the body; bruising/bleeding; pain in joints or muscles; weakness; changes with vision; skin problems; unusual stools; decreased/increased urination; pain in chest; confusion; depression; fainting; irregular heartbeat; stomach pain; nausea; vomiting; breath shortness; rapid weight gain; speech changes; skin/eyes yellowing.
