Epivir HBV is known to be a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Epivir-HBV treats a hepatitis B (liver chronic viral infection). The medication slow the virus growth. Epivir HBV avert the hepatitis B passing to other people.

Drug Class and Mechanism
Epivir HBV is considered to be cytidine analogue. It blocks hepatitis B’s reverse transcriptase and 1 and 2 HIV reverse transcriptase types . Usually, before it is active it phosphorylates to triphosphate state. 3TC-triphosphate , blocks cellular DNA polymerase. Epivir HBV is often combined with Zidovudine. Epivir HBV therapy restores sensitivity of Zidovudine.
Missed Dose
If you omit a dose of Epivir HBV, take it immediately. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up.
Storage
Canadian product: Keep this product between 2 and 30 degrees (36 and 86 degrees F). Do not store it in the bathroom. Save this remedy out of the reach of children and pets.
US product: Keep Epivir HBV at room temperature 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). Keep in a hermetic and light-resistant container. Save it away from light, heat, moisture. products_description-term keeping at temperature 15 to 30 degrees C (59 to 86 degrees F) is allowed.
Warnings Precautions
Epivir HBV may cause the following side effects:
lactic acidosis, liver problems. You must very carefull when taking this drug because taking Epivir HBV may result in death. Use of Epivir-HBV in Yhose patients who have untreated/unknown HIV infection may experience resistant strains of HIV.
Laboratory tests may be made when you take this medicine. Such tests help to control your heakth condition and check side effects. You should not avoid all laboratory and doctor appointments.
Inform your healt care provider or doctor about the following conditions:
disorders of blood, pancreas problems, alcohol use, any allergies, HIV infection, problems with kidney or liver.
Before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine.
You are not adviced to drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Epivir HBV.
Using Epivir HBV alone, with certain other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Eulexin is not recommended for use in children; safety and effectiveness have not been confirmed. Epivir HBV may influence blood sugar levels in patients having diabetes. In case you suffer diabetes, control your blood sugar levels regularly.
This medicine must not be taken during pregnancy because it may cause harm to human fetus. It may cause serious harm to the human fetus
On condition you suspect you are pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. You should discuss all benefits and risks of taking Epivir HBV during your pregnancy. It is not known whether Epivir HBV passes into human breast milk. Stop breast-feeding while using this medicine.
Possible Side Effects
Contact your doctor if any of these side effects take place:
nausea, dizziness, headache, vomiting, diarrhea.
Inform your doctor as soon as you can on condition that the followinge side effects happen:
mental or mood changes, pain in stomach, eyes/skin yellowing, changes in breathing,fatigue, sore throat, fever.
As a rule, an allergic reaction does not occur while taking Epivir HBV. Aneway, ask for medical attention immediately in case you feel chest tightness; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; rash; hives; difficulty breathing etc.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
