Zofran helps in preventing vomiting and nausea caused because of cancer chemotherapy or surgery. It can also be taken for treating other conditions if your doctor has asked you to do so.
How Taken
Take Zofran as recommended by your doctor.
* Take every dose with one glass of water.
* Take this medicated drug with an antacid or food for lowering stomach discomfort.

Drug Class and Mechanism
Zofran is defined as a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor blocker that works by blocking a chemical that possibly leads to vomiting and nausea in some situations (such as, chemotherapy).
Missed Dose
The missed dosage of this medicine should be taken as soon as you remember. if you find that it is almost the time for the next dosage, prefer skipping it and return to the routine dosing plan. Avoid taking two dosages at one time.
Storage
Store this medicated drug at room temperature, say between 68 to 77 degrees F or 20 to 25 degrees C. keep off from moisture, heat, and light. Avoid storing it in the bathroom. Keep this medicine in a tight and light-resistant container. Keep this medicine safe from pets and kids.

Zofran can lead to dizziness or drowsiness. These effects can worsen if you are taking this medicated drug with certain medicines or alcohol. Take Zofran with care. Avoid driving or carrying out any hazardous tasks till you are aware of the ways to react to it.
Take care while providing this medicine to your child, particularly those less than 4 months old. It is because the effectiveness and safety of this medicine has not yet been confirmed.

It isn’t yet known whether this medicine is present in breast milk or not. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are breastfeeding a child.
