Drug Uses
It is used for medication of generalized anxiety disorder and depression. It manages pain that is caused by DPNP (diabetic peripheral neuropathy). Sometimes it is used for other conditions as describedby your doctor.
How Taken
Use it as determined by your doctor. Read the medicine label for exact instructions of dosing.
Take this medicine by mouth with/without food.
Swallow Cymbalta whole. Do not crush, break, chew it before swallowing. Do not open the pill and powder the contents on liquid or food.
Take the remedy on a regular everyday schedule to get the most benefit from it. Using Cymbalta at the same time helps you not to forget to take it.
Continue taking this medication even if you feel better. Do not miss any dosages.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Cymbalta is known to be a SNRI (serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor). It restores the balance of definite natural substances in the brain such as serotonin and norepinephrine. It helps to improve some problems with your mood.
Missed Dose
If you omit a dose of Cymbalta, take it immediately. If you do not remember until later, skip the missed dose and follow your everyday dosing schedule. Do not take two doses of Cymbalta at once.
Storage
Keep Cymbalta at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). products_description-term storage between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) is permitted as well. Save it away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Store the medicine out of the reach of children and pets.
Warnings Precautions
Do not use Cymbalta in case:
you are allergic to any ingredient in Cymbalta;
you have kidney or liver problems, dialysis;
you are taking or have taken a MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) within the last two weeks;
you have narrow-angle glaucoma;
you are taking a quinolone antibiotic, a SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) a SNRI, tryptophan, thioridazine.
Call your health care provider or doctor immediately if any of these apply to you.
Sometimes certain medical conditions interact with Cymbalta Delayed-Release Capsules. Inform your pharmacist or doctor in case you have some medical conditions, especially if any of the following take place:
if you are allergic to medicines, foods, other substances;
if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding;
if you are taking any prescription /nonprescription medicine, dietary supplement or herbal preparation;
if you are dehydrated, have low blood sodium levels;
if you drink alcohol;
if you or your family member has a history of manic-depression (bipolar disorder), other mental or mood problems, alcohol or substance abuse and suicidal thoughts or attempts;
if you have a history of seizures, increased eye pressure, heart problems, heart attack, high blood pressure, kidney problems, diabetes, bowel or stomach problems etc.
Some medications interact with Cymbalta Delayed-Release Capsules. Inform your health care provider in case you are using some other medicines, especially any of the following:
5-HT1 receptor agonists, quinidine, rasagiline, linezolid, lithium, MAOIs, SNRIs, SSRIs, St. John's wort, tramadol, tryptophan because severe side effects, such as a reaction including fever, delirium, and coma, rigid muscles, blood pressure changes, mental changes, confusion, irritability, agitation, may happen;
diuretics because the danger of low blood sodium levels may be highten;
medicines for high blood pressure, cimetidine or quinolone antibiotics because they may increase the danger of Cymbalta Delayed-Release Capsules's side effects.
Certain antiarrhythmics, phenothiazines, or tricyclic antidepressants because the risk of their side effects can be highten by this medicine.
Possible Side Effects
Tell your doctor if some of these side effects take place:
decreased sexual ability; diarrhea; drowsiness; headache; increased sweating blurred vision; constipation; loss of appetite; aches in muscles; nausea; sore throat; tiredness; trouble sleeping; vomiting.
Ask for medical attention instantly if any of these side effects happen:
severe allergic reactions (itching; hives; rash; difficulty breathing; swelling of the face, mouth, tongue or lips); confusion; excessive sweating; dark urine; fainting; fast heartbeat; chills or fever; swollen, blistered, peeling skin; seizures; persistent nausea; vomiting; persistent trouble sleeping; suicidal thoughts or attempts; tremor; trouble urinating; unusual or severe mental or mood changes; worsening of depression; yellowing of the skin or eyes hallucinations; loss of coordination; worsening agitation; anxiety; panic attacks; aggressiveness; hostility; restlessness;
impulsiveness.
