Drug Instruction
This medication is prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections.
Intake Instructions
Please make sure to intake this medication by mouth, generally twice a day, at least 1 hour before or at least 2 hours after a meal or dairy products (e.g., milk, yogurt). Take care to intake the medicine with a full glass of water (8 ounces or 240 milliliters). You should necessarily drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication lest your health care provider advises you otherwise. The dosage is dependant on your medical condition. Take this medication 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking any products which involve magnesium, aluminum, or calcium. There are certain examples which involve quinapril, certain forms of didanosine (chewable/dispersible buffered tablets or pediatric oral solution), vitamins/minerals, and antacids. Calcium-enriched juices, sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate, iron, and zinc are also involved. These products bind with Noroxin resulting in prevention of its full suction ability. Antibiotics have their best effect when the amount of medicine in your body is retained at a constant level. Consequently, take this medicine at evenly spaced time frames. Go on with the treatment with this medication until the full-prescribed amount is over even if syndrome disappears in a few days. Drug Category and Mechanism
Noroxin represents a category of drugs named quinolone antibiotics. It effects by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic only treats bacterial infections. It will not effect for viral infections (e.g., common cold, flu). Needless use or outrageous of any antibiotic may bring about the decreased effectiveness.
Missed Dose
Should you miss a dose of this medicine please take it asap. If you find you have missed the previous dosage when it is almost time for your next dose, you should better skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Taking double or extra doses at once is not recommended. If more than one dose is missed, please contact your attending medical doctor or health care provider.
Storage Instructions
The best conditions to keep the medicine is at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is allowed. The container where the medicine is stored should be tightly closed. It should be also strictly protected from moisture, heat and light. Retain the medicine away from heat and fire.
Safety Precautions
Taking the medicine is not recommended in case:
you have allergic to it; or to other quinolone antibiotics involving ciprofloxacin, gatifloxacin, gemifloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, or ofloxacin; or if you have any other allergies. Before using this preparate, please inform your health care provider or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: convulsions, brain problems (e.g., cerebral arteriosclerosis, tumor, high levelled intracranial pressure), muscle problems/weariness (e.g., myasthenia gravis), heart disease (e.g., cardiomyopathy, decreased heart rate, torsades de pointes, QTc interval prolongation), kidney disease, mineral imbalance (e.g., low potassium or magnesium), history of tendonitis/tendon problems. This medicine may make you giddy or drowsy; use caution winning in activities necessary for alertness such as driving or using machinery. Please necessarily limit alcoholic beverages. This medication is liable to make you more sensitive to the sun. Please do everything to stay away from prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Make sure to use a sunscreen as well as wear protective clothing when staying outdoors. Caution is predetermined when using this medicine in the elderly as they may become more sensitive to side effects of the drug, especially tendon harm (e.g., tendon rupture). Using corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone) and noroxin simultaneously may bring about the increase the risk of tendon troubles. Caution is predetermined when using this medicine in children as they may become more sensitive to side effects of the medicine (joint/tendon troubles). Probable Side Effects
Please discuss with your health care provider if any of the mentioned most COMMON side effects afterglow or become or causing bother:
Emesis, headache, stomach upset, weariness, vertigo, diarrhea or giddiness may occur. In case any of the mentioned effects persist or get worse, please immediately inform your doctor or pharmacist. Note that your health care provider has prescribed this medication as the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. A sufficient number of people using this medication are not liable to have serious side effects. Please inform your health care provider immediately if any of these uncommon but serious side effects occur: tremor, sunburn-like skin reaction (sun sensitivity). Please inform your health care provider immediately if any of these rare but very austere side effects occur: convulsions, mental/mood changes (including rare thoughts of suicide), resistant sore throat/fever, changes in vision, changes in hearing, change in amount or outer of urine, yellowing of the eyes/skin, fainting, fast/slow/uncommon heartbeat, easy bruising/bleeding, anemia/tingling of arms/legs. This preparate may rarely cause tendon harm (e.g., tendon rupture, tendonitis). Please necessarily stop exercising, rest, and seek immediate medical attention if you face joint/tendon pain. Please remember that this medication may rarely cause an austere intestinal condition (pseudomembranous colitis) due to persistent bacteria. This medical condition may happen weeks after treatment with the medicine has stopped. Make sure not use anti-diarrhea preparates or narcotic pain medications if you experience any of the following symptoms as these products may make get them worse. Please inform your health care provider immediately if you experience: steadfast diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain/convulsions, blood/mucus in your stool. Make sure to use of this medication for prolonged or recurring periods may result in oral moniliasis, or a new vaginal yeast infection (oral or vaginal fungal infection). Please immediately consult your health care provider if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal disburden or other new symptoms. A very austere allergic reaction to this medicine is uncommon, thus please seek immediate medical attention if this happens to occur. Symptoms of an austere allergic reaction may involve: rash, itching, tumor, severe vertigo, hard breathing. In case you notice other effects which were not listed in the mentioned list, please immediately turn to your doctor or pharmacist.
