Drug Uses
Proventil is known to be helpful breathing problems treatment (eg., asthma ). Sometimes it may be taken for some other conditions as directed by your doctor.
How Taken
Take the medication as determined by your doctor. Read the medicine label for precise dosing instructions carefully.
Proventil is specially formulated for inhalations.You should be carefull and avoid getting this mediacation in your eyes. In case you do, bathe your eyes thoroughly as soon as possible.
Take a vial off the foil container, then put the extant vials back into the container.
You should not take Proventil on condition that it looks grainy, blurred or if it changed its usual colour. Vial should not be harmed as well
First of all, open the vial, then let the substance flow into the specia tank.
Attach the reservoir to the face mask/mouthpiece or face mask. Then attach the nebulizer to the special compressor.
You should be sitted in a loose vertical position and put mask on or put the mouthpiece in your mouth. Move the nebulizer in a circle. Breathe still, restfull and thoroughly. When mist does not form any more stop the procedure. The inhalation takes approximately 5 to15 minutes.
The nebulizer should be cleaned. Contents should be used after you open the vial for the first time.
Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Drug Class and Mechanism
This medication is a beta agonist (sympathomimetic) bronchodilator. It relaxes the airway smooth muscle. As a result, air can reach the lungs and come out without obstructions.
Missed Dose
Take this medicine as determined by your doctor. If you omit a dose of Proventil, take it immediately. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up. Then go back to your usual schedule.
Storage
Keep Proventil at room temperature, between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Keep in a hermetic and light-resistant container. Store it away from light, heat and moisture. Do not store it in the bathroom. Save this remedy beyond the reach of children and away from pets.
Warnings Precautions
You must not take Proventil in the following cases:
you have allergies to ingredients of this medicine;
you are currently taking epinephrine or other beta agonist (sympathomimetic) bronchodilators.
Contact your health care provider/doctor immediately in case some of these apply to you.
Sometimes certain medical conditions interact with Desyrel . Tell your pharmacist or doctor in case you have the following medical conditions:
if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant;
if you are breast-feeding;
if you are currently using some herbal preparation, certain dietary supplement
or prescription/nonprescription medicine,
if you have seizures, problems with kidney, pheochromocytoma, diabetes, overactive thyroid;
if you are allergic to sympathomimetic medications;
you are allergic to some substances (medicines, foods etc.);
if you have/have ever had heart diseases, low levels of potassium, high blood pressure, problems with blood vessel;
if you are currently using tricyclic antidepressants or MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) (even within the last two weeks).
There are some medications interacting with Proventil . Inform your health care provider in case you are currently taking any other medicines, especially the following ones:
Effectiveness of Digoxin may be lowered by Proventil.
Beta-blockers may lower positive effects of Proventil.
Diuretics may highten the danger of low levels of blood potassium.
The risks og Proventil (Salbutamol/ Albuterol) may be heightened by epinephrine, MAOIs, COMT (catechol-O-methyltransferase inhibitors, sympathomimetic bronchodilators, stimulants, sympathomimetics and tricyclic antidepressants.
Possible Side Effects
Medicines may provoke certain side effects. Nevertherless, many people have no/ minor side effects. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects take place:
inflammation of sinus; sore throat; tremor; insomnia; vomiting;
cough; dizziness; headache; nausea; nervousness etc.
Ask for medical attention immediately in case any of these serious side effects take place:
serious allergic reactions (chest tightness; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; rash; hives; difficulty breathing); trouble breathing (worsened/new); pain in chest, ears; irregular heartbeat; headache; dizziness; wheezing.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
More Information
Proventil should not be taken simultaneously with beta-blockers because they have an opposite effect to Proventil. Beta-blockers may narrow the airways.
Proventil should be taken only by those patients for whom it is prescribed. You should not give it to others.
If your symptoms become worse and do not improve, contact your doctor.
