Allopurinol is prescribed for treating gout. The medicine is used for the treatment of high uric acid levels in the blood as well as urine due to certain categories of cancer chemotherapy. Missed Dose
Should you miss a dose of this medicine please take it asap. Storage

Crucial Information:

You may undergo a growth of gout attacks for several months after you start taking the medicine. Your health care provider may provide you with prescription for you another medicine (colchicine) to help decrease these gout attacks. Contact your doctor if you perform frequent or severe gout attacks.
The medicine may take from 2 to 6 weeks to obtain the full benefit of Allopurinol.
Allopurinol is not useful for the treatment of an acute gout attack.
